Charlotte Bradburn graduated in 2000 with an honours degree and a Professional Performer's Diploma from the Royal Northern College of Music, where she studied with Rob Buckland.

During her studies she was the recipient of the Stan Barker Memorial Prize for Jazz Improvisation, the Trevor Wye Award for Chamber Music and performed a concerto with the RNCM Wind Orchestra.

Along with her work with Ephyra, Charlotte plays with various saxophone quartets, has performed a concerto with the Pennine Spring Music Festival Orchestra and has been involved with a number of opera organisations, including Opera North and The Pocket Opera Company.

Charlotte enjoys cooking, gardening and going to The Arsenal!

Piano

Adam Caird graduated from the University of Manchester in 1999 with 1st class honours, and from the Royal Northern College of Music with a GRNCM in 2000 and an MPhil in Performance in 2002.

Twice winner of the University of Manchester's Hargreaves Prize, he has performed concertos with the RNCM Chamber Orchestra, University of Manchester Sinfonietta, Derby Concert Orchestra and Oxford Concerto Orchestra. Adam was awarded a Special Prize at the Dudley Millennium Piano Competition for his performance of Tippett's Second Sonata.

Adam is also a composer of instrumental, orchestral, vocal and electro-acoustic music and has released a debut album of works 'Out of Line' on the Forge Records label. Adam's music is published by Astute Music.

Adam is a lifelong Arsenal supporter, enjoys eating Charlotte's cooking and feeding their two cats, Billy and Charlie.

'Cello

Vanessa Lucas-Smith ('cello) began her studies at The Royal College of Music Junior Department with James Halsey (Bingham Quartet). She then moved to Manchester to study at the Royal Northern College of Music with Eduardo Vassallo.

It was at the RNCM, with its superb chamber music department led by the inspirational Christopher Rowland, where she developed her passion for chamber music and was awarded many prizes for chamber music - including the Sir John Barbirolli Prize for String Quartet.

As a founder member of the Ephyra Trio and the Brodowski Quartet she regularly plays throughout the UK and abroad for music clubs and societies. Recent highlights include the Wigmore Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Purcell Room, Barbican Hall and the Kronberg, Brighton and Edinburgh Festivals

She is a keen footballer, playing for Greenwich Clippers Ladies Football Team and is a lifelong Everton supporter.
